Ah yes...it is Victoria Day weekend!
The Victoria Day weekend is all about being outside and enjoying time with family and friends, and realizing that British Columbia is a great place to live.
This got us thinking about doing work in these great outdoors of ours here in B.C. - have you ever thought of working for a provincial or national park? What about parks and recreation in your area or in the forestry industry? These sectors are ideal to look for work in, and the Victoria Day weekend has inspired us to look into these sectors, as there are a lot of ideal job opportunities out there.
To be honest - wherever you look you seem to find work in the open air – whether it is in landscaping, parks and recreation or forestry...there are so many options to choose from.
In the parks and recreation sector alone, there is a wide range of jobs including a student programs, as well as regular job posts for national parks. There is also the British Columbia Parks and Recreation Association which is a good source of job advertisements.
Never forget about looking at our B.C. Industry Association job boards. The Association of BC Forest Professionals job board is on this list, and is also a great resource. The Forestry sector has additional job posts that are of great interest for someone looking for a job in this field.
You can also check out the WorkBC Job Search for any other kind of job you are looking for where you are not stuck behind a desk all day. Needless to say, you look around enough for a job that is out in the great open, you will most certainly find them.
Enjoy this great long weekend everyone, and enjoy the great outdoors!
