Have you checked out Career Trek yet?

August 7, 2012 0 Comments

If you’re a recent graduate and you’re wondering what you want to do for a living, you may want to check out Career Trek.  Career Trek is a fantastic new website from the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation that takes you on a trip across British Columbia to look at some exciting career options.  Travel along with Career Trek’s hilarious and engaging hosts Viviana and Brian, as they take you inside some really interesting careers to show you what the jobs look like in action.  Right now there are 52 featured careers in BC, each containing a video profile roughly 5 minutes long.  In addition to the video, all of the career profiles highlight the skills requirements, salary expectations, and required education level of each job.  If you’re unsure where to start you can take a look at your region of BC and view the jobs available in that area, since many of the featured jobs are region specific.  You can also limit your search by salary, job title, education, or field of work so you can narrow down career choices to find one that closely matches your interests.  Moreover, all of the videos link back to WorkBC’s career profiles so you can get in-depth information regarding the occupation size, working conditions, and employment outlook for each job of interest.  So if you’ve just graduated from high school and are wondering what sort of career you’d like to do in the future, check out Career Trek to see if there’s a job that piques your interest!
