Job Description

The Vancouver Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team requires a psychiatrist with ACT and addiction psychiatry experience. This position will also provide clinical service to the other Mental Health & Addiction Services as required, such as the Community Mental Health Teams and Programs.

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is a unique service delivery approach for individuals struggling with the most serious and persistent mental illnesses and addictions. Individualized assessment and treatment, rehabilitation and support services are provided to clients in their communities rather than in traditional office settings. The team helps clients deal with housing stability issues and criminal justice system involvement while addressing mental health and addiction disorders with low client-to-staff ratio, frequent contact and 24/7 operations.

The psychiatrist with the team provides clinical assessment, treatment and rehabilitation during regular business hours with shared on-call responsibilities.
