Bantrel Constructors Co. is looking for journeymen welders ticketed for aluminum all positions to join our team. The journeyman base rate is currently $39.23 an hour, net of benefits. The construction site is located in Kitimat, British Columbia on Rio Tinto Alcan’s Aluminum Smelter Kitimat Modernization Project.
Pursuant to the collective agreement the shift is 20 ten-hour days followed by 8 days of rest, camp and rotational flights across Canada and into the United States are provided.
The collective agreement prescribes 95 hours pay for 70 hours per week worked. This is not to be construed as a guarantee of hours of work or hours of pay.
Those hired would be dispatched through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 993. Qualified non-union journeyman welders are encouraged to apply and will be permitted through the union in positions the union is unable to fill with unionized Canadian electricians.
Applicants must be capable of performing all the tasks of the welding trade including walking, climbing, working at heights, lifting up to 50 pounds, gripping, pushing, pulling, lifting overhead, twisting, turning, and working outside in various climates.
Welding candidates will have valid transferable (Not expiring for min 6 months) CSA 47.2 ticket, qualified for 1.5mm & above thickness / Semi-Auto GMAW all position, FW ( Fillet Weld ) classification /Group 1 or 2 Electrode Alloys.
