Prepare for Further Education

How will you pay for your education? What type of job will you get when you finish your program? What prerequisites do you need for admission?

As you’re exploring career options, these are some of the questions you’ll want to consider.

A useful resource for planning your education is the B.C. government’s prospective students guide. It lists a series of questions to ask yourself on topics that cover everything from how to prepare to admissions to student loans.

Still feeling uncertain about your future? A great way to explore potential fields of study is to learn from the experiences of others. Along with a number of other resources, Perspectives provides video interviews with post-secondary students and graduates.

Once you’ve decided on a program, you’ll need to choose an institution and find out what is required for admission. Education Planner can help you find up-to-date information on undergraduate program availability, application dates, tuition costs, program requirements, lengths, and much more.

If you don’t have all the prerequisites for admission, the Adult Basic Education (ABE) or Adult Graduation programs can help you obtain a high school diploma and the coursework needed for post-secondary programs.

Or maybe you have a qualification or started a program previously and are wondering how you can get your prior learning recognized?

You can learn more about Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) in the B.C. Public Post-secondary System from the PLA Learner brochure.
