There are many programs and services available to assist Aboriginal learners in B.C. This page provides links to resources on entrepreneurship, funding, learning and more.
For those considering self-employment, Aboriginal Best is a 12-week program that teaches business skills and provides resources for launching a business.
Interested in a career in tourism? Aboriginal Tourism Training & Education programs provide Aboriginal entrepreneurs with the training, tools and resources needed to start and operate a tourism business.
Aboriginal Mining provides information about mining careers, as well as training and education programs for various roles in the industry.
Aboriginal learners can access tools and programs to help them succeed in the classroom through the National Indigenous Literacy Association.
If you need help funding your education, you may be eligible for one or more of the following bursaries:
- The First Citizen’s Fund Student Bursary Program provides financial assistance to Aboriginal students enrolled in post-secondary education programs.
- The Chief Joe Mathias British Columbia Aboriginal Scholarship Fund is a nationally registered charity available to Aboriginal students in need.
