Compensation, Benefits and Incentives

A key element in your retention strategy is the development of an employee compensation package. Compensation includes salary, benefits, and other incentives offered to reward employees for their job performance.

Employers need access to information in order to develop fair and attractive compensation packages. Fortunately there are tools and resources that can provide guidance.

For up-to-date wage and salary information, visit the brand new B.C. Wage and Salary Survey on the B.C. Stats website. You'll find searchable information on part-time and full-time wages, hours of work, hiring difficulties, and vacancies for 121 of the province’s most common occupations. You can view information on occupations in B.C.'s eight regions, as well as a summary report featuring notable findings.

The go2 employee compensation page provides insight into the topics of compensation, benefits and incentives.

The federal government Labour Market Information website also provides an overview of what people are paid in various occupations across Canada. Service Canada’s compensation and benefits site provides more details on specific aspects of payroll and benefits.
