The B.C. Labour Relations Code governs the establishment of unions, collective bargaining and labour-management relations in the province.
The Code applies to all employees and their employers in B.C.
Under the Code, employees are free to be members of trade unions and participate in its lawful activities. Employers are also free to be members of employer organizations.
Managers, superintendent, and those employed in a confidential capacity in labour relations or personnel, are excluded from collective bargaining provisions.
