Looking to gain skills and experience to build your resumé? Need extra income to support you while in school?
Many opportunities exist to connect youth with employers that want to support them in their transition to employment.
Work Experience Opportunities
Learn about internships, co-operative education and other employment bridging programs by visiting our Build a Bridge to Employment section.
On the Job Training
Want help getting started in the construction industry? BladeRunners is a hands-on program that connects youth with employers.
Also check out Youth Skills BC. It’s a pilot program that helps unemployed youth (15 to 29 years old) get on-the-job work experience and skills training. It provides a hiring incentive and training funds to qualified employers willing to hire and train eligible youth.
Youth Employment Resources
If you’re a student, check out Service Canada Centres for Youth for self-assessment tools, job search techniques and job postings.
Make sure to check out Youth Employment Resource Centres in B.C., as well as other resources. If you live in the Lower Mainland, visit the Lower Mainland Employment Resources website. Once there, select "Search Programs" and enter "youth" in the search box.
