Transfer Your Skills

As you move through your career, you may have picked up many skills and abilities that are transferable to other occupations or industries. Use the following resources to help you assess the skills you currently have and which jobs or sectors require similar skills.

To learn about the main skill requirements of an occupation, search the Essential Skills database. You can also search alternative occupations to see if your current set of skills can be applied elsewhere.

If you’re a skilled immigrant looking to transition into employment, the B.C. Foreign Credentials Recognition provides information on how you can apply your education and skills to work opportunities in B.C.

Need more help to assess the skills you have? If you are an unemployed job seeker, it may be worthwhile to contact your local Employment Assistance Services office to see if they can help you assess, transfer or build your skills.
