Education & Student Surveys

Student feedback is another important source of labour market information for planners, decision-makers, employers and job seekers. You can learn a lot about careers in various industries from those who’ve recently finished post-secondary studies.

What Can You Learn from Student Surveys?

Student surveys share former students’ overall experience and level of satisfaction with their education. Use them to find out whether or not graduates are currently in jobs related to their education, what wages they receive, and if they’ve taken further education since leaving a program.

Student Outcomes Surveys

  • BC Student Outcomes — These student surveys are conducted each year for former students enrolled in diploma, associate degree, certificate and apprenticeship programs. Surveys for former Adult Basic Education (ABE) and English as a Second Language (ESL) students are also included.
  • Baccalaureate Graduates Survey (BGS) — Allows you to access information on baccalaureate graduates’ education and satisfaction levels both two and five years after graduation.
  • B.C. student outcome highlights — Provides a brief overview of students’ labour market outcomes. This is useful if you don’t have time to review detailed data.

Student Mobility and Relocation Surveys

  • Student Transitions Project — Tracks student movement from B.C. high school graduation to B.C. public post-secondary education. Data about time spent in B.C.’s public and post-secondary education system is linked anonymously by Personal Education Numbers (PENS).
  • Relocating to Study Fact Sheet — Useful for students who move from their home community to take post-secondary education.
