The Government of British Columbia's source for labour market information

Wages and Salaries

Wage and salary data provides employers, job seekers, career practitioners and researchers with valuable insight into current compensation practices and trends.

Wages and salaries for various occupations and industries can fluctuate depending on labour market supply and demand.

Having access to accurate wage data helps employers develop competitive hiring practices. Job seekers benefit from knowing the current salary for a particular occupation or job before deciding on a career path or accepting a job offer. Researchers and decision-makers use wage and salary information in the development of public policy.

For up-to-date wage and salary information, visit the brand new B.C. Wage and Salary Survey on the B.C. Stats website. You’ll find searchable information on part-time and full-time wages, hours of work, hiring difficulties, and vacancies for 121 of the province’s most common occupations.

The Wage and Salary Survey presents the top 100 occupations listed for B.C.’s three largest economic regions (Vancouver Island/Coast, Mainland/Southwest, and Thompson/Okanagan) and the top 35 occupations for the five remaining regions (Kootenay, Cariboo, North Coast, Nechako, and Northeast). A summary report features notable findings.

The Earnings and Employment Trends report provides a comprehensive look at the labour market in B.C. It includes an analysis of the provincial labour force and its earnings with comparative figures from the U.S.A. and other parts of Canada.

The federal government Wages & Salaries website allows you to search by region, occupation or keyword to find wage and salary information for occupations across Canada.

Those seeking more information on wages and other forms of employee compensation can also visit the Employers section of this site.
