General Resources

Direct clients to use the B.C. Labour Market Programs Inventory. It contains programs and services that help people gain skills and find work. The inventory can be searched by keyword and location.

The BC Employment Program also provides employment services and supports for B.C. Employment and Assistance (BCEA) clients.

Use the comprehensive pre-employment Community Assistance Program. It provides life skills services to help BCEA clients with multiple barriers become more self-sufficient.

Programs for Immigrant Workers

Use the service provider section on WelcomeBC and find information about programs for immigrants.

Programs for Disabled Workers

See the Employment Program for Persons with Disabilities and find a range of services and tools. Pre-employment, employment and self-employment planning as well as disability supports and assistive technology are included.

WorkSafeBC’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services offers programs to help injured workers return to work. These include work assessments, job search assistance, work site or job modification and formal on-the-job training.

The Bridging Employment Program offers pre-employment life skills to BCEA clients who have suffered from violence and/or abuse.

Programs for Older Workers

The Targeted Initiative for Older Workers program is a federal/provincial program for communities affected by significant industry downsizing or closures. This program provides assessment, counselling, resumé writing, interview techniques and job finding clubs.
