Visit Skills for Growth: British Columbia’s Labour Strategy to 2020 to learn about the Province’s labour market priorities and plans, including those of interest to the employers you work with. This strategy is designed to help British Columbians make the most of their skills.

Do you work with employers of small and mid-sized businesses? Introduce them to the SkillsPlus program. It provides funding to help employers provide their staff with the essential skills they need.
Also direct employers to Career Conversations, a tool designed to help employers discuss career-life goals with their employees. It focuses on how to help employees achieve their goals. Guides for managers and facilitators and a workbook for employees are also available.
If you’re an HR professional, use Literacy and Essential Skills Tools and Resources for Employers and HR Professionals. It provides tools for helping employers or your own organization.
Do you help HR practitioners and hiring managers reach, assess and integrate skilled immigrants into the workplace? Hiring and Retaining Skilled Immigrants: A Cultural Competence Toolkit is very useful. Use it when working with skilled immigrants and advising employers of the advantages of a culturally diverse workforce.
Do you provide supported employment services by coaching clients and employers to ensure successful outcomes? The Canadian Association for Supported Employment offers useful information, resources and an annual conference.
