Evaluation and Evidence Gathering

Programs and services that provide compelling evidence of their effectiveness and outcomes are more likely to receive funding. Consult the Compendium of Sample Evaluation (Evidence-gathering) Tools from the Canadian Research Working Group on Evidence-based Practice in Career Development (CRWG). You’ll find a range of evaluation forms, check lists and other means for documenting client outcomes.

The Canadian Journal of Counselling Special Issue on Evidence-Based Practice in Career Development features several articles of interest. A framework for evaluation links the services provided with the client outcomes that are being achieved. In addition, alternatives to employment status as the primary indicator of career/employment counselling success are advanced.
