Bridges Career Mentoring Program

One-on-one mentoring for women survivors of violence, trauma and abuse

Duration:

  • Nine months of combined classroom training and one-to-one mentorship

  • Essential and life skills training
  • Goal setting and accountability
  • Career focus and development training

Eligibility:

  • Unemployed and
  • Women

  • Greater Victoria (Victoria, Saanich, Sidney, Central Saanich, Langford and the Western Communities)
  • Tsawout First Nation and the Metis Nation Greater Victoria

Indigenous Business and Entrepreneurship and Skills Training Program (BEST)

Entrepreneurial skills training for eligible Indigenous persons, with a focus on youth and persons with disabilities

Duration:

  • Two weeks entrepreneurial  training

Services/ Programs:

  • Entrepreneurial training workshops
  • Personalized, one-on-one service
  • Mentoring
  • Business plan development and funding applications

Eligibility:

  • Unemployed and
  • Indigenous persons and/or
  • Youth and/or
  • Persons with disabilities

  • Greater Victoria and surrounding community (Songhees Nation with Esquimalt Nation, Skwin’ang’eth Se’las Development Company)
  • Campbell River and surrounding community (Nanwakolas First Nation, Mamlilikulla-Qwe’Qwa’Sot’Em Band, Tlowitsis Nation, Wei Wai Kum-Campbell River Indian Band, Kwiakah First Nation)
  • Port Hardy/Port McNeill and surrounding community (Nanwakolas First Nation, Da'naxda'xw First Nation, Gwa'sala-'Nakwaxda'xw Nation, Kwakiutl Band Council, Namgis First Nation, Quatsino First Nation, Tlatlasikwala First Nation, Homalco First Nation)
