As a Chef de Partie, the leadership you provide to your fellow Colleagues will result in a memorable experience for our guests. Hotel Overview: Nestled at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, The Fairmont Chateau Whistler resort defines mountain luxury in the heart of Whistler, British Columbia - Host Mountain Resort of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues • Prepare and service all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards • Ensuring high quality and consistency of food preparation and presentation • Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings • Motivate and lead to ensure high team morale • Control food cost and wastage within the kitchen • Act as a liaison between the floor and the kitchen • Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions • Supervise the team in the absence of the Sous Chef • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Minimum six years cooking experience in a similar high volume environment is required • Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent is required • Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie is preferred • Previous experience in all areas of a hotel kitchen operation is an asset • Proven time management and organizational skills • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities • Highly responsible & reliable • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): • Constant standing and walking throughout shift • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling • Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
