Job Description

Senior White Water Rafting Instructor




·       Located in beautiful Whistler, BC, Wedge Rafting is part of The Adventure Group (TAG). Wedge Rafting’s mission is to create spectacular experiences for people that lead to moments of personal growth. The Senior Whitewater Rafting Instructor provides a safe, professional and memorable experience for our guests.


Responsibilities and Deliverables:


·       Trip lead groups on class 3-4 whitewater rivers in both Whistler and Squamish, British Columbia

·       Enforce safety rules and regulations on and off river

·       Provide a high level of guest service to clients

·       Instruct and coach junior rafting instructors

·       Organize and inspect equipment for each trip

·       Maintain trip reports and records

·       May assist in raft and equipment maintenance


Key Qualifications and Attributes:


·       3 - 5 years experience as a whitewater rafting instructor (must present river log)

·       Swift water Rescue Technician Certification (recertification offered through company)

·       BC River Outfitters Association guide licence or equivalent required

·       Must hold current first aid certification, minimum 16 hours

·       Must be able to assess river conditions and lead groups

·       Strong whitewater kayaking experience a strong asset

·       Class 4 commercial drivers licence a strong asset 

·       Candidates must be compentent in English. Knowledge of other languages is considered an asset


Additional Information:


·       Role is seasonal full time - 30hrs per week, running from April to September

·       Wage is $23-$25/hour (paid per trip), 4% vacation pay, 1.5%-2.5% wage increase dependent on first aid certificate held

·       Wellness package offered after completion of 4 seasons with TAG
