Job Description

The catering service supervisor is responsible for ensuring our clients get the best food, service and dining experience possible. They must direct and coordinate service at cater events and venues. They will also and play a lead role in supervising the warehouse, vehicles and onsite logistics.


  • Supervise production of contracts on a daily basis: including service setup and execution.
  • Supervise daily scheduling of staff on event or at venue.
  • Oversee daily running of specific venue.
  • Perform any necessary deliveries and oversee daily schedule.
  • Pack equipment for upcoming events.
  • Manage vehicles - maintenance and movement.
  • Keep warehouse area clean and organised at all times, perform maintenance as necessary.
  • Keep the Sea-Can organized and an inventory of items in there.
  • Keep coffee area clean and organised at all times.
  • Ensure stock of consumables is maintained.
  • Supervise laundry collection and rotation.
  • Keep front of house area clean and organised.

On site

  • Oversee onsite setup for large events
  • Room set-up and teardown.
  • Setup of buffet and refreshment station.
  • Refilling items like plates, cutlery, glassware as guests use them.
  • Clearing tables and re-setting them during shift.
  • Refilling and maintaining buffets according to and using cleanliness standards.


  • Greet and serve all guests in a timely, friendly manner.
  • Oversee and training onsite staff at events or venues.
  • Prepare and deliver all food and beverage items in a timely manner.
  • Follow the wine service steps when needed.
  • Work as bartender when required.
  • Work on simple cash register when required.
  • Answer guests' questions and provide information to the best of your abilities.
  • Resolve guest complaints. When this is not possible, refer to the service manager or director.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the menu items.


  • If there is a guest complaint, notify the supervisor.
  • Communicate with the kitchen liaison regarding levels of food on buffet.
  • Communicate drink orders to the bartender when needed.
  • Communicate with the service supervisor if any supplies/equipment need to be ordered.
  • Communicate any equipment/vehicle maintenance required to the service manager.

Project Specific

  • Participate in any special project if asked by the service manager.
