Food Services Supervisor - Part Time

The Food Service Supervisor oversees food service operations at selected Surrey schools by:

  • conducting school visits to ensure service, nutrition, food quality and safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • providing clear, easily understood directions to staff and follow up to ensure comprehension and completion.
  • discussing students’ food allergies with parents and school staff to ensure student safety.
  • plan menus that appeal to students within the budget, the Guidelines for Food and Beverages in BC Schools, FoodSafe standards, etc.
  • monitor student acceptance of the meals, order patterns, and make changes as required.
  • completing related duties including scheduling, orientation and training for staff, record keeping.

 

Position Requirements:

  • A two-year program in Nutrition and Food Services Management from an educational institute recognized by the District
  • Current certification in Food Safe I and  II
  • 5 years of recent related experience. 
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and vehicle to move between sites. 
  • Available for work between 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, from late August to the end of school in June, following the school calendar.  This position is 25 hours per week.
