Job Description

The Outreach Coordinator will assist in two exciting program areas of the ongoing Treaty work for NStQ, sharing time between the Communications and Child and Family Wellness programs.

The successful assistant will help to design presentations for all four NStQ communities and will ensure community members are engaged in the treaty process as a whole, and in the development of Child and Family Wellness programs in particular designing presentations, sharing information and engaging with NStQ community members about Child and Family Wellness program service delivery. The Outreach Coordinator will plan and facilitate community events; manage social media pages; maintain members lists; photograph events; and write communications tools for various Treaty and Tribal Council products.

Please note:  This is a term position requiring some travel.

Experience:

·        Minimum one year working in the community, social services or with a First Nations organization. Experience in communications, community engagement, and facilitation.

Education:         

·        Certificate or diploma in relevant field, or equivalent experience.

 

Skills & Abilities:

·        Proficiency in the use of computer programs for word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email and the internet, to the intermediate level (capable of using a large number of functions and feel confident using the program)

·        Must have strong administrative, organizational and communication skills

·        Ability to self-regulate, meet deadlines, have attention to detail

·        Ability to plan and coordinate community events

·        Excellent writing, presentation, public speaking, and facilitation abilities
