Job Description

A bit about the role

Our Software Test Engineer works within a team of software test engineers in software development for our connected home products

What you'll do

  • Perform risk assessment and prepare test strategy based on test effort and test scope
  • Create test plans specific for different firmware and software releases
  • Maintain and create test cases according to software requirements
  • Execute manual and automated test cases outlined in test plans
  • Test firmware builds using network signaling simulators on Windows, Linux and Android platforms
  • Clearly document defects found during testing in bug tracking system
  • Write test reports and present them to stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with developers, project managers and other teams to analyze requirements and resolve firmware and software issues
  • Design and develop automated tests to increase test coverage and test efficiency
  • Some occasional travel

What you'll bring

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in software testing
  • Extensive experience in writing test plans and creating complex test cases based on requirements and specifications
  • In-depth knowledge of software test practices and software engineering discipline
  • Previous experience in design and development of automated tests
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to clearly present complex technical information
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while working both independently and within a team
  • General understanding of wireless communications is highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
