Job Description


  • Formulates and deploys long-term and short-term strategic plans for acquiring and implementing efficient and cost-effective information and communication technologies
  • Benchmarks, analyzes, and makes recommendations to the executive team for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems
  • Develops cost benefit analysis and business cases for executive and senior management presentations for IT budgets and initiatives
  • Manages vendor agreements, negotiates and administers service agreements
  • Models and fosters a highly collaborative and openly communicative environment that is productive and delivers results
  • Models customer service and best business practices ensuring a continuous focus on improving IT based on reducing risks.
  • Creates and maintains a positive, productive, and transparent work environment and team atmosphere
  • Manages and develops IT staff

Information Technology

  • Monitors performance of IT systems and infrastructure to assess operating efficiencies, costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements
  • Manages the development, implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of all IT infrastructure and systems
  • Manages the sustainment and replacement lifecycles of all IT infrastructure and systems, determining Capital and Operating budget requirements on an ongoing basis, identifying efficiencies, and practicing fiscal responsibilities
  • Ensures that all assets are tracked and managed via licence, warranty, and maintenance agreements, vendor contracts, and compliance audits
  • Manages the communications infrastructure including Wide Area Network, wireless, telecommunications, and mobility to ensure efficient and cost effective usage
  • Follows structured methodology to plan, govern, implement, and successfully conclude IT projects on time and on budget
  • Develops and implements all IT policies and procedures, including architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, and service provisions
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate policies and procedures for IT users

Qualifications and Experience

Technical Experience

  • Good understanding and technical knowledge of current desktop, server and network operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Experience with multi-site WAN/LAN infrastructure including switches and routers, VOIP gateways, and VPN
  • Experience managing service providers and infrastructure in Co-located, Managed Hosted and Cloud environments

Career Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing multi-site computer and telecommunication environments
  • ERP sustainment and support ideally including all business functionalities (Accounting, Finance, Sales, Procurement, Inventory, Logistics, and Manufacturing)
  • Project management expertise with proven track record of successful delivery of complex, enterprise scale technology solutions achieving objectives within deadlines and budgets
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve problems
  • Extensive knowledge of regulations regarding security, privacy, and retention
  • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning expertise
  • Expertise in migrating systems and processes as a result of company amalgamations
  • Experience in a managerial role leading, coaching, and developing IT employees


  • Post-secondary education in Computing Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline,
  • Project management certification PMP,
  • Information security certification CISSP.
