Are you compassionate, caring, and enjoy working with seniors? We are hiring for Full Time and Part Time Cook positions at Royal Crescent Gardens in Maple Ridge!

Brief Description of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Cook/Food Services Manager, this position is responsible to produce the lunch and dinner using the Production Sheets and Standardized Recipes. This position is responsible to complete all audits, and temperature monitoring of kitchen equipment and ordering and receiving supplies in absence of Senior Cook.

Full time Cook 5 days per week (10 am to 6 pm) Part Time Cook 2 days per week

Expectations and duties: • Help the team to promote and maintain an atmosphere or harmony and a peacefully home like environment. • Culinary certificate from recognized Institution. • Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Control Points principles (HACCP). • Knowledge of therapeutic diets • Commitment to continuous education. • Maintenance and upgrading of immunizations. • Commitment to provide the highest quality of service. • Commitment to team work. • Perform duties within SimpeQ safety guidelines (MSIPP awareness) • Expectation of knowledge and the daily practice of the Simpe Q and RCGAL policies. • Prepare the kitchen for daily tasks, which include turning on equipment, unlocking coolers and freezer. • Record daily temperature of coolers, freezers, refrigerator and dishwasher (any problems to report to maintenance immediately). • Lunch and Dinner preparation and service (record temperature for foods being held hot). • Date and label left over foods before storage (ensure cooling of left overs is done according HACCP principles. • Cleaning of all preparation food dishes and equipment. • Preparation of nourishments and snacks. • Preparation of special textured diets. • Review special diets with Senior Cook and Dietician. • Pre-preparation of salads and garnishes. • Preparation of food for the next day (i.e. removing freezing meats). • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen,(which will be measured by regular auditing.) • Regular communication with other Cooks • Commitment to personal and resident safety. • Other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
