Analytic Systems is an innovative Canadian manufacturer of power conversion products for Military, Marine, Industrial, Alternative Energy, Transportation, and Telecom markets. We sell our products worldwide in a wide variety of applications within Government and Commercial Industrial markets.

Responsibility:

The Senior Hardware Development Engineer is responsible for designing power conversion products including solar systems, grid-tie systems and stand-alone electronics (i.e. DC/DC converters, battery chargers and inverters), and developing PCB designs and layouts.  Responsibilities include development, testing and analysis of electronics design, including the full spectrum of design and project management; including conceptual design, analysis, modelling, prototype design and test; assist with fabrication issues and other factors affecting project success.

Requirements for the position:

Education:

·    Electronics Engineering Bachelors degree plus 5-10 years related experience or

·    Masters degree plus 2-3 years related experience

·    Specialization in power electronics

Experience:

·    Electronics design

·    Familiarity using converter topologies such as Full Bridge, Buck, Boost, Flyback

·    Soft switching technologies a plus

·    Comfortable with using digital control in designs

Skill, Knowledge and Abilities:

·    Working knowledge of power electronics

·    Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment

·    Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, or cooperatively with others in a team environment

·    Must be able to speak, write, and read English, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills

·    Strong work ethic and leadership skills, with a positive team attitude

·    Computer proficiency

·    Must be aware of battery safety

·    Must work safely around high voltages

Physical:

·    Ability to lift and carry 30lbs.
