Job Description

Kang & Gill Construction Ltd. is looking to hire a highly motivated professional to fill a Full-time Permanent position of a Residential Home Builder Manager who can implement Procedures and Co-ordinate with workers and subcontractors according to work schedules. An individual who is able to manage the building of single-family homes.

Position – Residential Home Builder Manager
Location – Victoria, BC
Start date: As Soon as Possible
Wages: $25/hour
Working hours: 32-40/week

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities of a residential home building
  • Prepare bids for home construction or renovation projects
  • Select, hire and supervise trade subcontractors to do specialized work, such as plumbing, heating and electrical work
  • Consult with customers, architects and engineers regarding plans and specifications
  • Direct and supervise workers and/or subcontractors
  • Inspect work performed by subcontractors to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers and trade subcontractors
  • Develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies to promote company's products and services
  • May perform carpentry or other trade work during home construction
  • Inspect work performed by subcontractors to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications
  • Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity


Job Requirement:
• Education: Completion of Secondary School is required, College Degree/Diploma an asset
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory experience in construction   

• Experience in the Home construction industry, including experience as a general supervisor
• Excellent interpersonal skills, highly organized, proactive and self-motivated
• Sense of responsibility towards the job and tasks at hand
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines
