Job Description

Job Title: Logistics Supervisor – Transportation

Number of Vacancies: 1

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: $25.00 hourly, for 35 - 40.00 Hours per week (Overtime applicable after 40 hours)

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Skill Requirements:
Education: Secondary School
Experience: 1-2 years experience of working in logistics, transportation or other relevant industry is required  

Languages: English


Specific Skills:

·        Co-ordinate, assign and review the work of employees working in different departments within our organization.

·        Schedule shipments and deliveries by coordinating with the clients, drivers and the dispatch crew

·        Build relationships with the clients and provide them timely response on their queries and updates on the delivery status

·        Coordinate with the Dispatching crews, schedule transportation crews and routes

·        Communicate with the clients, warehouse supervisors, custom brokers and sales forces

·        Ensure that all the departments are working together to guarantee the deliveries are made in a timely manner

·        Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization

·        Manage employee relations including interviewing, hiring, counseling, and documentation of transport drivers in an ethical, professional expedient manner

·        Establish work schedules and procedures, resolve work related issues, prepare and submit progress and other reports

·        Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies related to transportation activities

·        Initiate cost efficiency measures in transportation operations

·        Build external and internal customer relationships

·        Supervise and monitor fleet operations

·        Requisition supplies and materials

·        Ensure smooth operations of the equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work

Essential Skills: Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Continuous learning. Ability to supervise 16-20 people
