Located in the Financial Services Division, reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and the Financial Controller, the Business Manager provides relevant and innovative financial planning, analysis, and reporting to senior management. In addition to being responsible for all aspects of the annual financial planning and budgeting process and the preparation of reports, the Business Manager proactively brings creative solutions to the District’s departments while understanding Council’s Strategic Plan. Using numbers and budgets to make a compelling story and to find dynamic solutions, the Business Manager brings energy and enthusiasm to assisting managers with developing annual and long-range operating budgets and capital plans.
The ideal candidate will have bachelor’s degree in business, business management, a professional accounting designation or in the final stages of an accounting program from the Chartered Professional Accountant organization plus considerable related experience in accounting, budgeting, auditing computerized financial systems and supervisory experience, minimum three (3) years’ experience in management position and working knowledge of the latest business policies and regulations. A current police information check must be completed prior to hiring.
