Director, Development Planning
Century Group Lands Corporation is now seeking a Director, Development Planning to work closely with the Vice President, Development.
Reporting to the Vice President, Development and collaborating with the Development team, the primary focus of the role is to research, plan, and develop new, innovative development opportunities.
Responsible for project management plans and budgeting, including process improvement and mapping;
Design quality and master specification development;
Responsible for comprehensive development visioning and planning on new development opportunities (in collaboration with VP of Development);
Maintain and contribute to the advancing of Century’s ‘Culture of Project Management’ Enterprise Project Management and through stakeholder engagement;
Responsible and maintain working with key consultants and other internal collaborators in deriving interesting and effective real estate development plans that integrate Century’s key development design drivers in mixed-use and agricultural elements;
Team-building and organizational development.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s Degree in Planning (preferably Urban Planning) from a recognized university or technical institute; minimum seven (7) years’ experience in development and planning or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The ideal candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
Leadership, people skills and emotional intelligence in guiding the diverse personalities in the Development Division;
Technical experience and expertise in the physical design of buildings from the urban form to the intricate design details such as mechanical systems and wall assemblies and how they translate into technical drawings and specifications;
Project management process skills and understanding its importance, particularly in aligning a more consistent process and expected desired outcomes in collaborating the execution of project with the Construction Division (we need to revamp and reassert a structured process as one of the first big tasks for the role);
Real Estate financial acumen and judgment in how to lead project design towards more valuable real estate projects and being able to numerically assess those outcomes;
Network of political and industry connections for business development.
