Job Description

LORICA Equipment is an innovative textile manufacturing company based in Chilliwack, BC. We design and produce high performance apparel and technical equipment for a variety of professional industries. Our team is comprised of former Canadian military and manufacturing and sales professionals who take pride in producing quality equipment that meets our customers’ requirements and exceeds their expectations.

LORICA is searching for skilled sewing operators to join our production team full-time in our facility in Chilliwack. Reporting to the Manager of Design and Product Development, the Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for the material preparation and construction of highly technical products.


  • Responsible for producing high quality products such as vests, pouches, garments, and apparel from a variety of fabrics and materials such as nylon, zippers, Velcro, elastics, and sub-components
  • Complete repairs and custom alterations
  • Install hardware such as grommets, snaps and twist locks
  • Perform routine machine maintenance
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Work closely with manager to collaborate on best practices and find efficiencies in the production process
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree required
  • Sewing machine experience, preferably with industrial-level machines
  • You will have access to operate all types of industrial sewing machines including single needle, Serger (Overlock), Walking foot, and Bartack machines
  • Experience working with a variety of materials preferred.
  • Ability to meet quality standards and deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines and goals
  • Team player able to interact in a positive, constructive manner with staff members on all levels within the company
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs without assistance
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use both hands to finger, feel or handle objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands or arms
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception
