Job Description


You are a Dispatcher responsible for assigning work as well as answering calls from Field Workers and Estimators. You have a passion for customer service, strong communication skills and are a natural problem solver, which allows you to ensure work gets completed safely, on time, and with a high degree of quality.


· Monitor daily workload in assigned geographical areas to ensure customers’ requirements are met.

· Responding to incoming calls about scheduling new projects and changing current ones.

· Capture data, follow specific protocols and deliver information via phone/email/text.

· Coordinate, assign and review the work of dispatching crews.

· Maintain awareness of project work schedule and procedures.

· Work to resolve project manpower related issues, e.g. sick days no-shows.

· Handle inbound calls from Field Workers and offer assistance as required to manage workload.

· Handle inbound calls to ensure effective coordination of resources and clear communication amongst team members and the Estimator.

· Assess daily workload and determine if any adjustments to the resource plan are required, including but not limited to contacting Field Workers to take additional shifts and or jobs to assist with high workloads.

· Maintain Excel spreadsheet at all times and distribute it to a specific distribution list at 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

· Work with temp. agencies to acquire labourers to resolve manpower shortages on projects.

· Place order for specialty equipment when needed.

· Work with warehouse to find required tools/equipment at the best value.

· Work with warehouse to locate missing equipment from site locations (foremen, clients, estimators, etc.).   

· Assist administration with allocating pay rates for the field staff (CW, LH, FM & shift premium).

· Assist administration and field staff with payroll distribution on pay days.

· On – call 24 hours a day when needed.


· Abatement/field experience an asset

· Excellent customer service focus, with an ability to work collaboratively with others to influence outcomes.

· Good judgment in discerning priority and non-priority issues making decisions based on logical assumptions and factual information.

· Ability to investigate and resolve issues and comfort dealing with ambiguity.

· Ability to effectively handle both favourable and unfavourable customer interactions.

· Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills.

· Quick learner and maintain high performance under the pressure of time constraints and a fast-paced environment.

· Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
