Energy

B.C.’s energy sector and electricity system provide clean and reliable power, contributing to our province’s economic growth. More than 97 per cent of British Columbia’s reliable, low-cost electricity is generated from clean, renewable sources, such as hydro, wind and biomass. The Site C Clean Energy Project will provide 5,100 gigawatt hours of electricity each year and 1,100 megawatts of capacity, which is enough power for 450,000 homes.

In 2015, the energy sector contributed $2.4 billion to the B.C. economy and there were over 9,600 jobs in electric power generation, transmission and distribution.
