DeNovo

The DeNovo program offers computer skills and short-term occupational certificate training, hands-on training, a job club and work experience. Wage subsidies, mentorships, direct matching to employers and Indigenous cultural components are available if needed.

Living supports may be provided for participants to attend the program at one of the four locations.

Qmunity WORKS

The Qmunity WORKS program has a focus on participants that identify as LGBTQ2S+ (and their allies). It provides online blended learning in occupational and short-term skills in areas such as computers, math and English, as well as job search assistance and hands-on work experience in inclusive environments. Job coaching, wage subsidies, job placements, language supports and Indigenous cultural components are also available.

Developing Unique Abilities for Labour-Market Attachment (DUAL)

The DUAL program offers participants occupational skills training simultaneously with on-the-job experience targeted to careers as labourers or customer service representatives. Certificate training includes First Aid, Foodsafe and Forklift training. Job coaching and Indigenous cultural components are available.

West coast participants are expected to stay in the Alberni Valley for the program, with participants being able to make three return trips during the program. Transportation support is included and program staff will support participants in finding suitable accommodations.

Steps to Success

The Steps to Success program focuses on supporting Indigenous participants and offers one-on-one coaching, computer skills and occupational certificate training and hands-on work experience in the service industry. Bi-weekly activities are meant to connect participants to the land and include kayaking, hiking, canoeing, gathering and meditation. Additional Indigenous cultural components are also available.
