This Apprenticeship Recognition Week (November 4 – 10), the Industry Training Authority (ITA) invites you to celebrate the hard work and dedication of more than 35,000 apprentices across British Columbia.

Apprentices are the next generation of skilled tradespeople that will continue to build, make, and maintain the communities we thrive in. Their success easily translates to the growth of our economy and strength and sustainability of our workforce. That’s why there are many resources available for apprentices along their apprenticeship journey. Below are just some of the supports that will help apprentices break through barriers and succeed.

Financial supports are available to apprentices from the provincial and federal government. Also, there are additional resources for Indigenous apprentices or women in trades. Check out the Financial Supports booklet to see how you can benefit and get ahead on your apprenticeship.

There are 15 ITA Apprenticeship Advisors around the province that work with apprentices and employers to ensure apprentices achieve certification. Find out and connect with your local Apprenticeship Advisor.

For any questions related to your trade or training, ITA has a dedicated team of Customer Support and a responsive Facebook chat, so you can access answers when you need it most. Looking for an employer? Try out the WorkBC Job Match Tool. This tool will match you up with an employer that is looking for apprentices with your training level, skill set, location, and other employment needs.

So, from November 4 – 10, join the Province and the Industry Training Authority in recognizing BC’s apprentices for helping build the best BC!

Thank you to Angela, author of this week’s blog post, who works with the ITA collaborating with employers and apprentices to help grow BC’s in demand trade industry.
