Charlene Lawrence - Quesnel WorkBC ESC - Rural

2 February 2016
After being unemployed for some time, and having Employment Insurance (EI) reachback status, Charlene visited WorkBC Employment Services Centre, Quesnel Employment Services Centre. She had been struggling to find work as she felt she did not have the skills employers were looking for.

Charlene discovered WorkBC by seeing an advertisement in the paper and scheduled an appointment with an employment counsellor to talk about employment opportunities and to get support in updating her resume and interviewing skills.  She had an interview for a Job Creation Partnership (JCP) in the Quesnel Economic Development Office and got the position. Hazel said of her employment counsellor “Hazel was my cheerleader and was very helpful in getting me in the door."

After the completion of Charlene’s JCP experience she became permanently employed with the Quesnel Economic Development Office.
