Kyle - WorkBC Salmon Arm/WCG International – Multiple Barriers
26 July 2016
Kyle had a history of work in the manufacturing industry in Salmon Arm. His employment became sporadic with several layoffs during the last year employed there. Kyle went to the Salmon Arm WorkBC Employment Services Centre looking for help to become employed in a more stable field. He received financial assistance to attend training including prerequisites and skills training for a Health Care Aid Certificate at Okanagan College. Kyle is now working as a Registered Care Aid for 3 employers in Salmon Arm. Between the three jobs, he is working 34 hours per week on a casual basis. It is expected that his casual work will become permanent once he builds up his seniority.
