The Green Economy

The Green Economy involves promoting sustainable development while reducing environmental risks. It is resource efficient, low carbon and socially inclusive. In a Green Economy, investment in economic activities like job growth is balanced with sustaining biodiversity and reducing pollution.

As Canada moves towards a greener future, there will be more jobs in the Green Economy. Some jobs need specific 'green' skills, e.g., environmental engineers, air quality engineers and agronomists. Other jobs may not need green skills, but are still necessary to a green organization, e.g., accountants, administrators and graphic designers.
