Project-Based Labour Market Training

Project Based Labour Market Training (PBLMT) provides funding to organizations in support of projects that provide a combination of training, on-the-job work experience and follow-up support to eligible individuals that will improve their employment skills and prepare them for in-demand jobs. Training takes place in a supportive group setting and is supplemented by a range of activities like counselling, vocational and/ or learning assessments, work experience, job search skills, mentorship, referral to community resources and post project follow-up.

Priorities for PBLMT projects
  • Jobs in high-demand sectors
  • Support people receiving income assistance with the skills and experience they need to find and keep employment and be independent from assistance
  • Community-driven projects customized for job seekers with complex needs
  • Equitable programs investment across the province
  • Indigenous-led projects
  • Projects with a duration of 12 months or less
  • Projects in communities or for people affected by tariffs, such as forestry, steel, agriculture, manufacturing, and others.

Projects will be assessed on merit and alignment with one or more of these priorities.
