Research and Innovation
The Research & Innovation (R&I) program funds projects that test new ideas and approaches to address labour market challenges. Projects may include pilot projects, or initiatives that combine research with a pilot component; however, stand-alone research projects are not funded. R&I helps identify effective ways to support unemployed individuals in gaining skills, finding work, and succeeding in the workforce. Findings from R&I projects guide future policies, programs, and practices across B.C.
Priorities for R&I Projects
- Pilot projects that work directly with participants
- Projects that test new ways to connect people facing significant employment barriers with in-demand job opportunities
- Support income assistance recipients to gain the skills and work experience needed to find and keep a job, and move toward independence
